This gorgeous print was the first off of a 3D-Bots Prusa Mendel (3 mm filament, 0.5 mm nozzle, 0.4 mm layer height) with our upgraded metal couplings. The couplings show massive improvement in precision over both the printed couplings, the biggest failure point on most RepRap printers, and the old metal couplings we were using. The old metal couplings only had two screws so it was tough to keep them accurately secured to the motor shaft and z-axis rods compared with the four set screws on the new design.
Lemon Curry RepRap: A UV or visible light sensitive monomer is used for three-dimensional printing called microstereo lithography. Using a DLP video projector with a UV output, it is able to create incredibly thin polymer layers and build objects layer by layer. The initial design will have movement for building vat grown models in the z-axis only. (via main - lemoncurry - Open Source UV Photopolymer DLP 3D Printer - Google Project Hosting)
